YOUTH CULTURE CAMP

38th ANNUAL AMERICAN INDIAN CULTURE CAMP 2019

Saturday, June 1st through Wednesday, June 5th

CAMP APPLICATIONS DUE BY MAY 6TH!

We are no longer accepting applications for camp. If you are over the age of 18 and would like to volunteer, please fill out a Counselor/Support Staff Application.

Culture Camp provides an opportunity for youth ages 5-13 to learn about American Indian culture while having fun with their peers.  In addition there are also opportunities for the older youth (ages 14-17) for leadership development with the Counselors in Training (CIT) program. Junior and Senior counselors and volunteers from the American Indian community work with the CITs and campers to aid in the understanding and appreciation of American Indian traditions, culture and values.  Campers learn about various songs, dances and stories in addition to swimming, hiking, archery, fellowship, crafts and much more.

Culture Camp is possible through the support of the community. Special thanks to the Rotary Club Youth Camp and the volunteer counselors and community members for your support of our program. KCIC accepts in-kind and monetary donations to support our program. Donations are used for camperships, drinks, snacks, crafts and other supplies. Any donation to our program is accepted with heartfelt gratitude. Without your support, most of our youth would not otherwise have an opportunity to experience camp. Please contact KCIC or click the Donate button below.

Please consider volunteering your time and talent! Without dedicated volunteers, both full and part-time, we would not be able to provide camp for the children. If you are interested in becoming a counselor, support staff, craft/activity staff, or assisting the planning committee, please email information@kcindiancenter.org, call KCIC at 816-421-7608 or complete a Counselor/Support Staff application and return to KCIC.
